2021.11.30 15:04 purpleyelloweyes I just had a glimpse of crazy experience and I wonder what you guys think. Was it a brain trick or something?

So I do experience with mushrooms and ayahuasca so you can say my brain chemistry may be a lil different...
I don't meditate as often as I would like, on the 20th minute of meditation listening to bansuri music in the speaker I felt like I fell into the void of nothing for one second, my body had goosebumps and some energy traveling from the toes to my shoulders. I guess I can say I lost my identity and I had a lot of light in my eyes. I did get scared, I tried to go back into this state but no luck. It was only a second

2021.11.30 15:04 Cintara A suggestion to solve the problem of ship skin colours

The issue is that a developer let slip, several years ago, that ship skins could technically be coloured simply by players entering a few hex codes. The skin pattern would remain the same but the colours of the skin could be set by players. Such a feature would of course be awesome! Orgs would be able to paint their ships in Org colours and players would have ships that had their favourite colours!
Unfortunately, the feature has remained absent since then, though many players would really like to see it. Naturally, the delay is causing an undercurrent of suspicion that CIG are holding back the feature to let them sell ship skins for money, instead of releasing it as a feature.
There is a solution that would give us both options; letting players and orgs select colours as they like and at the same time let CIG make money on selling skins: Do it the Star Citizen way! Go all in, go deep, do it properly! Make the shop skins a feature beyond what you typically see in other games: Have the shop sell Motif Skins and interesting patterns instead of just colours! Sharks, Dragons, Mechs, B17:s, Lions and Unicorns or just a really nice Jungle-camo pattern! Let players pick colours freely, maybe even pre-create some matching colour sets (so any horridness flying around is at least on purpose), but also create a pipeline for Motif Skins to sell in the shop. Let the talented artists in CIG paint lots of motifs for ships! Invite guests from Deviantart, Artstation and all the other art websites to add to the variety, maybe even a small percentage on sales to motivate quality, creating a huge variety of fantastic patterns and motifs for players to put on their ships, while letting players freely chose trivial colour changes.

2021.11.30 15:04 Survey_Bright Need Advice on Reverse Engineering a Binary File From an ECU with an Obscure Architecture. (M7700 Assembly)

I've got a single raw binary file that runs the ECU of my 1993 Mistubishi 3000GT, I want to reverse engineer it, or at least, understand the hex values i'm looking at.
Problem is that where are talking about data from an automaker in the 90s, 0% open source, with an "in house" chip (Mitsubishi M7790 Series) based on its own architecture (7700), all assembled with an obscure assembler called RASM77.

Resources I have are the following:

  1. The Raw Binary File.
  2. The Data sheet for the Architecture.
  3. The Development documentation for the chip.
  4. Tuner Software Called ECUFlash that will let me change values.
  5. XML definitions file that provides value tables for the ECUFlash software.
  6. I have disassemblers such as IDA Pro and Hopper.
My Goal is to be able to make sense of the binary file, change hex values myself, without having to rely on old outdated 32-bit software.
How would you proceed in reverse engineering the file to make sense of it. Should I study the XML definitions files to understand where everything is located?
Any Help is appreciated thank you guys! 😃

2021.11.30 15:04 PapyOak Which activities get mentally "warmed-up" for professional activities every day?

Hi Reddit!

I have been freelancing for a while now, and it requires a lot of energy, application, and organization, but I'm grateful to state that, so far, everything is going smoothly.
My goal in the foreseeable future is to be able to work a whole workweek in a decent form while taking care of my responsibilities, getting closer to my goals, and becoming a happier, better human being. It's our goal for all of us here, so I'm happy to be able to share them with you and get to pick your brain on some matters of mine to a more productive.

So, here's my question: Which activities/hobbies help you to get mentally ready for a good day of work? I'll explain my situation.
When I try to get to work at 10 am, I just don't feel like doing it right away. I beat around the bushes with emails, software settings, and so on, without doing actual work for an hou an hour and a half. Then, when I finally decide to get myself to work, I actually enjoy it! (I take the time to break down my tasks, to time block days before, and to take enough breaks during the day). It leaves me with a disappointing end-of-the-day where I could have achieved much more.
The reason why I'm specifically asking for activities is that I realized I was doing the same thing with exercising. I would postpone it to later during the day, but one day I told myself "I'll just warm myself up. If I still feel like not doing it, I won't, but if I do feel like it, then let's go." From then, it changed the way I was exercising. I always listen to my body, and if it wants to exercise after a warm-up, I just do it. I think that it's the right way of doing it. Not only that, but it also helps me have better endurance, builds more strength, and has many other benefits.

In my professional life, I feel like that's what I'm lacking: An activity that would serve me as a stepping stone between leisure and high-performance work. Maybe my body is afraid of hurting itself? Maybe if I get myself into a flow state on a lower stake activity, then it could help me improve my performance at work while achieving more, being happier, and more accomplished?

So far, I know that practical books about my field (UX/UI Design) help me a lot, from acquiring more experience and sharpening my skills, to helping me enjoy my freelancing days a lot more. The same thing could be said for journaling and writing, but I don't live enough to sustain journaling every day. Other things I want to try during the next few days are practical books about things like sleep optimization, meta-learning, and so on.

How about you? Do you think I could benefit from those ideas? Am I aiming at the wrong thing? Are there better ways of achieving what I'm aiming for? What activities are you doing that is helping you achieve your best work?
Thank you, and have a wonderful rest of your day :)

2021.11.30 15:04 natewallace Puppy Scam. White Valley American Eskimos

Puppy Scams White Valley American Eskimos
Buyer beware! I was the victim of a puppy scam with White Valley American Eskimos (whitevalleyamericaneskimos.com). This is a breeder said to be located in Helena Montana. The site offers mini American Eskimo puppies said to be 10 weeks for $1100 plus $400 shipping.
The website IP address 156.67.69.113 has 19 other websites hosted and 8 of which appear to be regarding puppy scams (5 breeders and 3 pet shipping companies).
whitevalleyamericaneskimos.com whitemoonsamoyeds.com sandycavapoopuppies.com pridefamilycollies.com montanafamilyminiaussies.com
uspc.services universalpetairways.com cargoshippinginternational.nl
I understand after paying for the puppy and the $400 shipping fee, the shipping company then reaches out to you for a “refundable shipping insurance fee” of $2500. Luckily I caught the scam before making it this far.
I just want to get all this information posted so hopefully it is visible in Google searches going forward and people can catch the scam before losing money.
